I attended the NWC Diversity Event. To me, it was very entertaining. I honestly laughed the whole time. But I do think that it is a serious subject that shouldn't be taken lightly. The actors in this play did a great job taking the pressure off of everyone and making the atmosphere light and entertaining. Without that, I think the show would not have been a hit at all.
This event got me thinking about ways to go out of my comfort zone and make friends with the people of whom I never associate with. It just seemed that if everyone would do this, the world would be a much better place and people would get along very well! Also, it would do everybody good just learning to go out and make friends with people of a different race. Cause like the play stated we are the human race. It doesn't matter what race, we all are human.
With help from others, the people involved with NWC will be able to make the U.S. less diversified and acting as one group.

The Last Two Minutes of My Last Football Game
I was involved with football all four years of highschool. To me, football was the greatest thing to me. Since then, many things have changed and now football isn't near as important to me. I would like to tell a time though when I was in football where I feel I gave it my all, did my best, and played the greatest football I'd ever played.
My senior year we managed to make it to the quarter finals which is two games before the championship. Throughout the whole game I gave my best effort. Or so I thought. Finally it came down to the last two minutes of the game and we were behind 24-21. We got the ball on our own twenty yard line and we had two minutes to march the ball down eighty yards and score. It was tough going out on to the field knowing our backs were against the wall. But during that time, I played the best football of my life. I knew that this was more than likely the last time I would ever be playing football and I changed my mindset of it. Instead of playing to win, I was playing for fun. Yes I wanted to win but the best football played is the football that is played in fun. That last drive was amazing. I enjoyed every minute of it. I played the best football I had ever played. The distance was to far and time was to short so eventually the game was over and we lost. It was very bitter sweet. I knew I was done with football for life, but I had enjoyed every second of that last drive.
During that last drive all i could feel was this kind of peace inside me. I didn't really feel the pressure to win because of all the fun I was having. I did feel determined though. I was doing my best. Doing anything for that extra yard. All in all it was a great experience and I know I gave it my all and did my best.
I feel that I could use this determination and fun to finish out this first semester by looking at my goal and working inch by inch for it while enjoying it.

My Reflection on Beloit's College Mindset List
I found Beloit's College Mindset List to be humorous and sad at the same time. Some items hit home while others were way off. Some of it was rather funny, but other's were kind of sad because it was actually true.
One part of this list i thought hit right on would have to be: Ruth Bader Ginsburg has always sat on the Supreme Court. I don't even know if I was alive when she got voted on, but growing up I always knew her as "the old liberal lady on the Supreme Court." Also, the one were it says: One way or another, “It’s the economy, stupid” and always has been. I don't ever remeber when it wasn't the economy. The one that states "They never twisted the coiled handset wire aimlessly around their wrists while chatting on the phone" also hit home because with all the electronics and wireless devices going around these days, I don't even remeber when we had a phone with a cord. "Computers have never lacked a CD-ROM disk drive" also is true because every computer my family has owned has had a CD-ROM disk drive. Even though I do faintly remember being on a computer that didn't when I was like ten.
Parts that I feel were off would have to be: Few in the class know how to write in cursive. I was taught how to write cursive in all my years of elementary school, and I still use cursive today. I also know many people my age who also use cursive. Another "off" comment would have to be: Beethoven has always been a good name for a dog. From the time a hit first grade music until a graduated highschool, my music teachers always made a big deal of past musicians. I guess I don't know much about Beethoven, but I do know who he was and what he did.
Most of these items were right though, and that kind of is sad because people my age should know more about the past and what the people before us had to go through. Alot of the items made me laugh though because I had no idea who some of those people were on there. Also, because they were so true. But either way we are who we are and we can't really change much now.
